500 e-mails go to an inbox over night. Which one is top of the pile first thing the following morning? The last one sent.... It's just another gig.

It's the principle of the thing - the site definitely said "first come first served", so it doesn't do what it said on the tin..............

Tickets for Q The Music Club Live At The Hospital will be issued strictly on a first come, first served basis. To apply for a pair of tickets, email your name and mobile phone number to q@emap.com, with the subject heading 'Richard Hawley gig'.

Is what it said. I know that I was amongst the first and am lucky enough to have tickets, but there were a couple on here who registered before me. Not fair!

The drone in the Q office or wherever it is though won't give a monkeys. They probably logged on to 500 mails in the inbox, took the batch as 'first in' and started working through that until the tickets were all given away.

I spoke to Nina at Q - number supplied kindly by JanH, one of the successful applicants.

She's "only covering" for the person who would have normally dealt with the tickets, and says she was just told to pick people at random from the list of applicants. She had no knowledge of the "first come, first served" note on the Q site, so she said.

Oddly, when I asked how many pairs of tickets were available, she said "Twenty.....or so"???

So when I pressed her on the fact that this clearly couldn't be the capacity of the venue she just went "Er.....well.....dunno....I was just told to pick 20 names" or something like that. At that point, I decided to leave it.....

Why couldn't Mute have organised it? They send me something every time they have a competition on here :*:

You can leave a comment on the page for the application.

Thanks for ringing Mark, just shows that you really cannot believe anything you see in print.

We're still getting over 50 a day, sadly their e-mails usually don't exist otherwise I'd let them all know how to spam Q.

Right, hoping everyone has got over the massive injustice of the not- quite-first-come-first-served ticket allocation thing for this, who's going to be there on Wednesday?

I'd hate to be stood/sat next to one of you lot without even realising I should have said hello.

Will be the first time I've seen Richard since the City Hall gig so I'm reet looking forward to it. :D 8)
