I've got something on, but would be a shame to see the tickets/guestlist go to waste.

Cheers....

Wow guys - what a brilliant gig! Well worth the drive from Birmingham....
We arrived at the Apple store early to be greeted by "Captain Merchandise" Palf (sorry if I spelt your name wrong mate) who recognised us from the September gigs and we had a great chat. The queue outside was even amusing when a passer by said "Wow - look at all them people queueing for an i-phone!"
:*: No mate - something far more special.
The set up was superb and we managed to grab seats in the centre of the back row and listened to the build up music...
Richard and Shez were marvelous. They has magical fingers and the sound was amazing.
"Just like the rain" came first and was just lovely. It set the tone for a superb night of music where we heard all our favourite tracks played as we've rarely heard them - acoustic brilliance.
I have never heard the song "Lonesome Town" before and it worked incredibly well and is set to become a favourite.
I also don't have to hear the others to believe Richard's claim that Clive is the best harmonica player in Britain. He surely must be and to watch him is to feel awed. How does he get such an incredible sound from such a small instrument?
There was a hilarious moment when Richard apologised if his voice sounded rough saying that he had been in hospital for three weeks with pneumonia. (oh dear - poor Richard - and I thought he'd just had a touch of "man-flu")
Someone shouted that it sounded better. "Better! After three weeks with pneumonia!" he said and in an inspired Father Ted type moment said "Feck off!" (or something like that!) It was so funny :*: and I hope that Apple leave all the banter in their recording.
I can't wait for next week to download it!
It was a fab night and I also got to meet Catandbooks, The Baroness and Dawoodcock, who recognised me from my little blue picture.
It was lovely to put faces to the avatars.
That's what I love about being a Hawley fan. He is so much more real than most singers and we all connect in our support of him and his superb music.
I apologise if I sound too slushy and gushing but it really was a great night and if that's how Richard sounds when he's still feeling unwell?... Well... What can I say - you were brilliant mate! :Hoorah

My first post!

I came down from Leicester on the train for the apple gig. It was the first time I've seen Richard live and it was brilliant.

The banter was cracking, particularly Uncle Eric's sausage fingers.

Nearly missed my train home due to an ill-advised Guiness stop in the Slug and Lettuce and then had to sit on the floor for the first hour.

Worth every minute - I've bunged in an entry for the Q music gig - when do we find out if we've got a ticket?

I suspect we won't hear about the Q gig till much nearer the time.

Welcome to the forum.
