Here's the latest list of artists appearing @ SXSW & our Richard's not on it. Duffy was supposed to be playing too, but she isn't on the latest list either

I hope I can get my other half tickets to see the Black Crowes.

Anyone else from the forum going to SXSW this year?

If anyone is interested now RH is not playing, there is a BBC blog and I think you can listen to odd bits and bobs from the festival here.........

Just got back this morning & I'm lost for words, the OH & I must've seen 50 odd acts over the 4 days & nights of the festival, despite NOT registering! (we didn't manage to get to see REM or Van Morrison). I'm lost for words to describe the amount of talent on display..All that was missing was our Richard!

The Highlights were: Martha Wainwright, a local (Austin) lass called Carolyn Wonderland, The Noisettes, British Sea Power & and a fantastic night at the Continental Club on S. Congress featuring a load of acts from New Orleans, including an amazing old bluesman called Little Freddie King. We did manage to get to see Duffy @ Stubbs BBQ (frankly a bit ordinary, compared to the talent on display elsewhere throughout the city) & we caught the end of the Lemonheads set @ Emo's.

The real joys of the festival were the people (so friendly) & the whole vibe of the place.

We'll definately be back again next year. Hopefully you'll be there too Richard.

hey there..
my group Swampmeat were invited to sxsw along with Copter and The Big Bang (fellow birmingham groups)..
we played a few gigs and i have to agree that the people in Austin were wonderful and very helpful..
highlights for us, besides playing, were Kitty Daisy and Lewis, The Dexateens, Andre Williams and Eli Paperboy Reed..
already planning next years visit..
best wishes to you all..
