It's a shame - shipyards were what made Glasgow special. I wonder what we're known for now...

it does my head in this subject and makes me very very angry, the money that was made off the backs of the steel, fishing, dock yard workers, miners and light engineering workers. and then they were just thrown on the scrap heap. When i went to the shipping museum it was in a shopping mall area much the same as every town and city, all these changes too have been made for the benifit of the fucking businness man not the actual population of the country........i might have have a lie down :evil:i would rather have a pint with a steel worker than a dick head celebrity any day and often do in a pub down neepsend near the studio there's a mate of mine who still works in one of the last small plants called Ian he collects what they call"apprentice pieces"i find it fascinating........most folks would probably think i'm a boring c**t but fuck em

New poster here. Great show, Richard and I particularly like the harmonica during I'm So Lonesome, didn't catch the fella's name. Didn't notice the heavy metal music during the songs which is the main thing. Good to meet a few posters Lily, Cats and books and Hissy t :*:

Didn't think Sauchiehall Street was any different from most city centres on a Saturday night!

Saturday night at the ABC was the first time I have seen Richard Hawley live and I was completely captivated. It really was something special.
Despite the rumblings from the band playing downstairs it sounded great, the ridiculous mirror-ball topped it all off nicely. Clive Mellor has a rare talent that I feel lucky to have witnessed first hand.

I look forward to the next time whenever that may be.

Ali.

The mirror ball made the room so beautiful I wanted to cry like a big girl. It's only made ridiculous by it's size which to be honest is really no bad thing. Having the biggest glitterball ever is cool.

Hi folks, this is my first post. Superb gig on Saturday night. The abc's ok with me, was there for Seasick Steve the previous week, no curfew mid week. The best venue in the world is in Glasgow - play the Barrowland Ballroom next time. It's got that delapidated grandeur thing going on and an atmosphere all of it's own. I prefer standing anyhoo. Hell it doesn't matter, wherever you play in Glasgow I'll be there. Cheers for a great night.
