Hi Richard

My partner and I were at the ABC gig last Saturday night and we'd like to extend our thanks for another great example of consumate musicianship. We've seen you and the lads more than once and it won't be the last time either. We've got all your albums and are big fans. This is what great songwriting is all about. The glitterball was a real 'wow' moment though the acoustics, particularly for your vocals were a bit iffy at times. Was that your PA or the venue's. It was even worse for the Viletones and I couldn't hear a thing the lad with the 335 was playing. The heavy metal band didn't cause any problems for us at the back though the constant wittering of the people around me did! Am I just getting old or am I justified in my annoyance at the people who pay to see an artist and then talk all the way through the gig? Should I just move? Should I stop going to gigs? Nah!!

The talking at gigs is a major problem - people forget that others around them want to actually listen to the artist they have paid to hear. Some of us have taken to using the word shush quite a lot at gigs recently. Sometimes it works.

I wouldn't stand for it!
After all you pay good money to see a great artist.
Why have it ruined by some ignorant sods.

I'd just tell them to - "shut yer geggy"

talking in gigs.....a weird one really people have a right to do what they want its a free country but i just simply don't understand why you would pay your hard earned money out to just ignore whats happening on the stage to me its like paying for a holiday and not even bothering to get on the plane

Not much will make me violent but if I have paid good money and waited months to see one of my fave bands/musicians I am not going to stand idly by and have it runied by some cock end who probably blagged himself onto the guestlist or something. So theres a warning to anyone going tonight

I combat the problem by sneaking to the front :*: ... People very rarely talk in the front row.

Actually, there were a couple of people blabbing when I went to the Connect festival. I didn't mind until it got to Jarvis & then I glared at them for a second or ten. They moved :D

haha, brilliant, it should happen more often. It should be on the back of the tickets actually with all the other small print.

:*: ... Brilliant... There's a video on youtube from the Astoria gig with somebody shouting stuff. You can kind of hear him muttering through a bit of the song, too. I think it's Lady's Bridge...
