Good lord, no pint afterwards?
It must be love!
Damned shame there was a curfew - didn't realise that - I had my own private thought about why perhaps you didn't do all the tracks - the pre-encore break was so quick I figured you didn't have time for more than a puff or two and were getting a bit desperate...............
Bloody good gig as usual - can't praise Richard and the lads enough - all tracks sounded absolutely superb - and I loved the bit where Richard got down on his knees to do the solo on the red guitar (OK I know nothing about guitars - just that its that one on Hotel Room and its my favourite sound apart from the guitar on the Lady's Bridge album cover - the booming one on Dark Road............
).........
We sat in the dress circle which was quite high up - but what a view! Made a change to look down on Richard (I am pleased to report he has a full head of hair!) instead of looking up his nose.............
The opera glasses came in very handy when I wanted a closer look which was at least half the time...............
The audience were quite good I think - although I'm not sure whether somebody had tied everyone to their chairs up where we were - I can't listen to the music without tapping my feet or moving some part of my body - and all the people around us (with the exception of the bloke next to me) just sat there..................
But a great time was had by all - found out that Dave, Craig, Katie and Charlotte are real and not just pictures on the forum and Maggie is a sweetheart and actually quite sane (
). Also managed to speak to Dean, Clive and Palf and a very quick hello to Shez.
Beautiful in York this morning but absolutely freezing with the fog and it even snowed................. so I didn't take the walk on the City Wall that I wanted to do....... beautiful scenery on the way home with the frost on the trees and fields and frozen streams and ponds...........
Now I'm back home in rotten old Essex (I need to move to Yorkshire!) with an enormous "Hawley and his band, but mainly Hawley" shaped hole in my heart - roll on the Royal Albert Hall..................... but there may be some consolation if I get to Hawley spot on telly with the Brits on Wednesday...............
