it is the most strange and warped question, and that takes some doing on here,i have ever been asked.its like saying what will you do if a dog bites off your bollocks?or what will you do if a plane crash lands in your shed? How will you feel if one day you wake up to find yourself dead?I doubt i will ever go bald.....please god please god.................My dad or granddad or any of my uncles they all have a thick head of hair.........or at least a thick head.

This is a very strange statement.

The bald Richard Hawley mock-up is a dead ringer for Anton 'Fresh Fields' Rogers. Cue farcical misunderstandings between the band / Japanese record company execs over a sunday roast culminating in Colin Elliot being discovered in the potting shed in a pair of suspenders and a garden gnome. Theres no ITV execs on this board are there? Thank Christ!

Strange statement on the surface but I think psychologically when someone looks right we are more inclined to listen more intently.

If Bowie looked like Ric Waller, would he have had the same impact, if Bolan looked like Terry Hennesy, Presley like Ralph Coates and Hawley like Noel Brotherston would we take them as seriously?

Back in the 50s & 60s nobody had much of a clue what the guys looked like that were producing the cool records in the States that people over here were buying on import. At one stage I think there was a perception that Elvis was black based upon how he sounded on the radio.

Having said that, I can understand how shallow people may be inclined to put style above substance.

In the end its what it sounds like that matters, nowt else.

Totally agree, but when you get great music and the visual impact you have something special.

Don't underestimate the visual, no matter how shallow it may appear, it's a big part of rock and roll and why we like it, and the look has potentially a bigger impact on society, eg people growing their hair in the 60s was a big statement.
