As someone who appreciates the style of previous decades, rather than blindly following fashion for the sake of it, do you find that people accuse you of just doing this as a gimmick?

I'm always impressed by the folks you meet who follow the 'Rocker' tradition. People too young to remember the fifties, but embrace that style wholeheartedly, not as a fad, but truly because they live it.

I live in a past I wasn't part of, yet I can still appreciate the modern world - The internet, new technology & so on. I just find that things from times gone by appeal to me, enough to want them around me, rather than to say 'look at the funny old car/record player/wind up watch' etc.

I'm even older than you so I don't care what folk think of me even more than you do :roll
The light bulb featured on the other topic, best one ever musically is the Mazda type, sounds like a bit like a Saw.
Are we all going nuts by the way

I saw an elsebound train, on the overpass
In the driving rain, every ticket costs the same
For where you can't go
Mustang horses, champagne glasses
Anything frail anything wild
It's the price of living motion, what's beautiful is broken
And grace is just the measure of a fall.

Don't know if i even believe in the old stars or that crazy jonathan cainer but i find it habitual to check mine every day - im a cancerian - heres mine for today -

"The world is full of people who seemingly love nothing more than an opportunity to do 'the obvious. They are alarmed by originality and intimidated by individuality. They don't care where the lemmings are heading as long as they can leap over the same cliff too. I mention this merely because you are now trying to decide how seriously to take a particular piece of advice. Read as much or as little into it as you like. Be as involved - or as detached, as you wish. The more you buck the trend, question convention and act on what you feel, not what you feel you ought to feel, the happier you will be this week."

strange - it about somes up what Hawley thinks i reckon!
