just re read this post and yes your right baronness so sorry for being grumpy.....i was genuine about my advise to any songwriter who is having a difficult time writing its best to just go and do something else and try not to think about it..........you get more and frustrated when you keep hammering away and also the song will suffer cos you'll grow to hate it,i have often come back to songs weeks after and the answer is crystal clear

It can be like that if you are painting too,if there's something that's not looking 'right' I just leave it...go back to it in a few days.............then I either finish it and it's fine or it's a heap of shit and I start all over again........................
