I got back to Chelmsford - there were still people travelling down from London to go to the festival - I've never seen so many buses waiting to take passengers to the festival site - how come we never have that many available on a normal day in Chelmsford!

Anyhow, hope it all goes well, feels funny sitting here knowing Richard and the guys are only 10 minutes down the road! I did ask them round for a cup of tea - they said they'll come as long as the festival falls on the 12th of never next year! :? :*:

Just heard from a mate that he's seen Richard's set and really enjoyed it (his first taste of Hawley).

Done my best - but he's from a younger crowd I met through another group and the taste in music of that crowd is distinctly different.

Easy to bring Cousteau fans over to RH, particularly the Italians who adore his music, but less easy with the others.

i dunno, i think my most unlikely mate to align with hawley is actually the most appreciative, or its between him and one other certainly. good musics good music. failing that, rooms, locks, and a stack of cds and tinned soup to last a few years should sort it!

So Mr Romeobrass, now that you're back from V are you going to share your Hawley experience with us?

 Shit. I can't believe you've actually done that...you will rue the day catsandbooks  :*:

Well...hmmm...I have to be honest, I got a bit wrecked Saturday and only have very fleeting moments of recollection...Saturday was a bit of a messy one

I did a deal with my mate, (because I've obviously seen Richard several times now), that we would start at Richard and then shoot off to watch the end of Ian Brown so I didn't get to watch all of RH. I'd always been a fan of The Stone Roses growing up and I'd never seen Ian Brown before so the one thing that really sticks out from the night was Ian singing Made Of Stone.
One of the few things I do remember thinking when Richard came on was that hearing his music was the equivalent to having an audio wash having listened to some crap at different parts of the day

Sunday was a lot better because we were so hungover from the previous day that we cut back a bit! The Verve were great and the new songs sounded impressive too.
Apart from that, The Kooks were good live, as were Kings Of Leon.
Review over :? :*:
