Hi Mr Hawley. Not a question but a heartfelt thank you to you for creating your wonderful songs. I so love that even after many, many listens each song still elicits a response, whether it be a tear, a smile or an urge to dance. I'm visiting the UK for the first time next month and had been desperately hoping to catch you live, but I see you're taking a well earned break. The alternative will be playing your songs in the hire car while visiting the Sheffield landmarks that I've learned about through your CDs and this Forum. Poor consolation, but I can't wait!
Thanks again and all the very best to you.

Hi Callistemon, welcome to the forum. I'm sure pretty much everyone on here feels the same about Mr H. What a shame about the timing. Still, when you do see him live it will be worth the wait.

Thanks for the welcome.
I couldn't believe my rotten timing. He who rarely gets obeyed flatly refused to postpone the trip (something about losing thousands of dollars).
My second dream for my UK holiday has also been dashed. Antiques Roadshow film their final episode for the year the week before we arrive. Not quite as devastating as missing Mr Hawley live, but it comes close!

Loftyeric, I love Insomniacs Corner. It's my absolute must-read thread at the start of every work day.

Don't fret about the gigs (or indeed the Antiques Roadshow). Whilst we on the forum may not be much cop at valuing your granny's ormolu clock, we can provide tea (and biscuits loftyeric? rich tea, hobnobs or custard creams?) until that moment when you see Mr H step out under the lights and up to the mic and the first chord breaks you into little tiny pieces...ah...

bienvenue!

Welcome Callistemon

Do pop into Insomniacs Corner, even if it is the middle of the afternoon for you. :D
