Not just a question for Richard, but for everybody really. Anybody a fan of this band (Glasvegas)?
Just recently discovered them and am a bit excited by them. They have a very distinctive Phil Spectorish/rockabilly/Jesus and Mary Chain sound, which shouldn't really work, but somehow does. The best new band i've heard in ages.

Just thought i'd share that!

I thought this was another thread about the Gleadless lights

I do have a soft spot for a singer who sings with a scottish accent... it's rather good. ..> :thumleft:

phew! for a second i thought this was about the worst television production ever in the history of the world that is shown on Irish TV

'Glas' meaning green- vegas meaning..vegas

its a "talent " show ,like x factor with no budget..and no talent

this clip fails to capture the awfulness in that these guys are probably the best thing that ever appeared on it

But to get back on topic-- those Scottish guys--pretty good! First I heard of them!, not bad at all!

I do quite like them, but every song is almost identical - or is it just me?

Anyway, the best new band I've heard for ages are the Jim Jones Revue. Hi octane rock 'n' roll designed to put some fire in your belly on a Friday night (or Monday morning if you're so inclined)

Saw them supporting "Guitar Wolf" in Nottingham earlier in the year and they were superb...

Are they not Tim Jonze's project? The guy that doesn't know anything about David Bowie?

OK I've listened and I just don't get it.
I liked the wall of sound thing going on... but that's not too difficult to acheive, but came away thinking that it was a collection of Bay City Rollers outtakes.... afer they'd tried to sound like The Jesus and Mary Chain. And the lyrics are abyssmal. I promise I'll give it another listen but it's like The View with all the guts taken out!

I think they're a great young band. And, unlike the View, they'll at least be able to tour the US with all members. Less up themselves, I think.
