Glad you like it :D

The sound is fanatstic for an audience recording IMO and well worth a download.

As mentioned the files are zipped, use winrar to Extract to the same name as the zipped folder, and as also mentioned you don't have to buy it (the full version can do other things you don't really need) just ignore the prompts. I've been using it for over two years!

Once winrar is installed just right click the folder and extract, then you can delete the zipped folder.

They are good quality mp3's well over 220KBPs. i think this is a good compromise, you still get excellent sound without compromising to much quality, although please bear in mind cd's are about 1400!

Right next up will be a very rare show from 2003 when Richard was supporting the go-betweens (this is on Dime at the moment for those with an account who want it lossless)

I'll get to it!

Ok here's one of my favourite Hawley shows and a really rare one (well was before this, the hoarders won't be pleased!)

Richard Hawley (supporting The Go-Betweens)

Darmstadt, Centralstation, 9th May 2003

MD Recording>Unknown>CD>FLAC>wav>mp3 (monkeys)

1.Something is...!
2.The Motorcycle Song
3.Baby you´re on my light
4.The nights are cold
5.Oh my love
6.You don't miss your water (till your river runs dry)
7.The only road
8.Run for me

http://rapidshare.com/files/213296571/R ... _.rar.html

please change the info file the guy didn't know the track title for the 4th track and called it 'The night she called'. I forgot to change it when adding it to the rar file

enjoy :D

Ah I was just going to post the link to the Darmstadt recording...I found it last month.Yes the sound is great and definitely worth a download. :thumleft:

Bobster thank you for sharing the RAH show.I'm listening to it right now. It's superb. :D

I have a recording of The White Session,France (2003).I got it from someone I knew on the internet.I'm not sure if it's just a bootleg or official material....The tracks are listed below.I think 'Young and Beautiful' is just the same one on the Hotel Room CD.Anyone can tell me if it's okay to upload this recording? The sound quality is awesome and it does make me wonder whether or not it's been officially released before....

1.Something Is...!
2.The Nights Are Cold
3.Young and Beautiful
4.Coming Home

Glad you liked it, and for saying thanks, it makes all the effort worth while :D

Do you have any other 2002, 2003 or 2005 shows you could post?

All i ask is that you post anything you have that others (including me!) don't and add to this thread.

I've decided im just gonna post everything (as im sure some people may not have any shows) I have over time, can't stand the hoarder mentality which dominates certain parts of the wider trading community.

Oh yeah check out how much welly Richard gives this version of 'Run for me' at the end, I'd never heard him do this before and it is pretty 8)

Next up will be the truly awesome performance that is,

28/05/06 check out the info file in anticipation :D

should have this up at some point today.

Quays Theatre, The Lowry, Salford 28 May 2006

Source/lineage: CSB>D8>Sony 55ES>[optical]>Soundblaster
Live!>WaveLab>CDWave>FLAC

Wavelab was used to do the fades,
no other processing was performed.

A superb performance and a nice clear recording. Seated venues
seem to encourage a more respectful audience so there's very
little audience chatter. Either that or the mindless dilettantes
who attend gigs solely to spend the entire night incessantly
jabbering away are too slow to pick up the good tickets and end
up seated at the back of the venue...

Such a great night. Around
the time of this gig I read an interview with either Tony Wilson
or Alan McGee where they referred to an identifiable moment when
great bands "go imperial". And this, for my money, is the sound
of Mr Hawley and his band going imperial. Everything was perfect,
from the lighting and full, clear sound down to the dapper suits,
vintage guitars and double bass on stage. Sitting in the
relatively plush surrounds of the Quays Theatre (no scuzzy sticky
carpet venue this), it felt at times like you were watching the
house band from a David Lynch film. And that's no bad thing at all.
The person you can hear heckling at various points is a rather
sozzled Christopher Eccleston. No daleks were in attendance.

Tracklisting:

1. Coles Corner

2. Tonight

3. The Ocean

4. Hotel Room

5. Just Like The Rain

6. You Don't Miss Your Water

7. Baby, You're My Light

8. The Motorcycle Song

9. Darlin' Wait For Me

10. Born Under A Bad Sign

11. Oh My Love

12. (Wading Through) The Waters Of My Time

13. The Only Road

14. Run For Me

15. The Nights Are Cold

16. I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry

17. That's Alright Mama

I've split the tracks so that tracks 1-14 are Disc 1 and tracks
15-17 (the encore) are Disc 2.

Line-up:

Richard Hawley - guitar, vocals

Shez Sherridan - guitar

Colin Elliot - bass

John Trier - keyboards

Phil Johnson - drums

Clive Mellor - harmonica (final two tracks)

1.Bang to rights
2.The nights are cold
3.The light at the end of the tunnel

I shall be downloading that tonight - and hoping my ipod decides to work again after refusing to do anything this morning!

Can't wait to hear all the guest tracks again - (of course the rest of the gig was ace as well)

:D :D

If it's a freezing iPod & it's the classic/video iPod press the top of the menu button & the bottom of the play button simultaneously, it will reset itself but doesn't lose any info it always works with mine when it's playing silly buggers.

No sadly that didn't work - all I got was a triangle and an exclamation mark so the whole thing is kaput and will need to be rebooted for windows or something :? I'm sure the computer will tell me what to do when I get home tonight! :? Very annoying when these things happen, especially as it has been working fine - it was only when I went to update and charge the thing that it gave up! :?

I think sony walkmans were much easier! :*:

I'll check my iPod book tonight, that doesn't sound like the 'kiss of death' screen (the sick iPod) so it may be recoverable.

The 'classic' iPods have a proper hard drive in them which gets moved about a lot so that can get damaged, and all iPods batteries have a limited life.
