Great big full sound from Hawley & the gang on last nights show, think the songs will take some sinking in but then again, i wasn't keen on ' For Your Lover' when i first heard it. but it grew on me after a while.
Look forward to hearing the album tho!
St Vincent weren't bad either...not sure on the song, but loved the guitar sound & playing!

Cruel was the song she played Mr. L - her latest album is awesome
she kinda looks like a malfunctioning guitar playing fem bot when shes playing- which is fine with me :*:

Great viewing last night and all the guys looked like they were really enjoying the new sound.
Thanks efsb for the chance to watch again. Looking forward to Friday night's show.

I actually loved the Damon Albarn section - mainly because it took me back to early post Gabriel Genesis of about 75

Cheers Nick for the filums - will be playing those later ...

Great to see Mr Hawley and his band again. I really couldn't bear St Vincent! Shows how musical tastes vary. Flat vocals and the guitar seemed to be related to an entirely different song and it was the only bit I liked. Rather liked Damon though. I went to drama college with him. He was extremely arrogant but I liked him. He had ambition and drive which was refreshing in an 18 year old. I didn't know him well so we didn't keep in touch but it hasn't surprised me that he keeps trying different things.

Back to Richard - I am really looking forward to seeing him live...if I can get tickets......if he does some more gigs in the North. Missed out on Pocklington.......

I agree with Lou- Hawley was great and surprisingly so was Damon Alban - I always favoured Blur over those horrible Oasis boys- rest was pretty poor but not as bad as last week!

great performance from richard and the band last night, good show. Never been much of a Mr Albarn fan but i have to admit that song he did last night was rather damn fine.

I enjoyed the whole show, excellent musicians, great songs. I do think Jools should hand the show over to someone else though, freshen it up a bit. He's had a good run.

The second Hawley song reminded me of Led Zeppelin. It was a great performance.

Interesting thought RP - to me, Jools is one of the best things about the show, I can't imagine any host with such a good mix of charm, wit, enthusiasm and wide-ranging musical tastes doing that kind of show. It's about the only thing I watch on TV. Nice tailor too

Yep - it really is his bag - post The Tube - what I would like to see is more quality BBC music shows of this nature - dare I say a 21st Century OGWT? - presented by Paul Morley and Jarvis Cocker - featuring on the first programme The Severed Limb ..>
