Charlie was put to sleep a few hours ago - he had a turn - last Thursday - and what with his diabetes and blindness - the writing was on the wall - his legs then went yesterday - so we had him at the vets first thing this morning - wagging his tail to the end - we could tell he had lost consciousnesses when it finally stopped and fell to the floor.

So it's off to the rescue centre for the sickest dog that no one wants that we can find - has to like Richard / Ron Sexsmith / Colorama - Mott the Hoople is pushing it a bit even for dogs.

Well maybe not today - maybe not next week - but sometime soon.

Oh, so sorry Pops. Not much of a one for finding the meaning of life but all we can much hope for is to love and be loved in return. And I think that applies to all things. Big hugs to you and yours, honey. xx

That is so sad Poppy Dog. Your Charlie, with his wagging tail, sounds like he was a wonderful friend.
I lost my Bearded Collie Alfie in November at the grand old age of 16. Like Charlie his legs went and we knew it was time but it breaks your heart, it really does...

We got our puppy, Ruby after 4 months and having someone new to focus on helps a lot.
When you are ready, there is a needy dog somewhere with your name on him...
Big hugs from someone who understands...
xxxx

Oh PD, I'm so, so sorry. He was clearly loved very dearly and despite his problems seemed contented to the end. You must all be so sad. Big hugs x

Aawww I'm so sorry it is one of the worst things in the world having to have a much loved companion put to sleep. He had a good life with you though, enjoy the memories. xx
