Tuesday 22 January at 22.00

Richard Hawley explores the rich and fascinating tradition of the shanty, a very specific type of folk song that's connected with - but not necessarily about - the sea.

Mary Anne played a brief excerpt from next week's interview this morning (Hawley on Love) followed by the mesmeriser version of Leave Your Body Behind You.

(when available it was on at approximately 1 hr 50 into the programme.)

love the way he talks about his 'lass' and publicly professes his love for her - it's just so refreshing these days ..>

Did anyone record this? Been trying for a couple of days but I can't access it. Either I'm too late or it won't let me listen because I'm overseas.

Thanks

I missed this one as well, with my antique internet service and distracted mind. And I'd love to hear the Aussie set properly again.

I know that some of those file sites are gone, but I hope there's still ways to share things for later. Hawley folks have been so great to each other!
