For ages now i have been thinking about putting out a compilation of b-sides and all the random stuff from tv/films/live shows and unreleased demo's etc......i even have title for it...............and there;s no rush but i wondered if i could enlist your kind help in suggestions of things you might like included?.........as it is essentially a fans sort of thing.........(and a bit cos i really like some of the b-sides a lot).........that i think its an ok thing to do.......wot you reckon folks?.........if its self indulgent then i will happily bow to your discretion..........but to my mind too much is on mp3 effort.......and not enough real formats........just a thought and soz if its a shite idea........ <*>

Would it be taking it a stretch too far to maybe say a mini 3 CD box set thingy... weller did something very similar a few years back and it did very well. I'd suggest along these lines but with your own twist of course..

Disc 1 : Live
Disc 2 : B-sides
Disc 3 : Unreleased / Demos etc... (Could be very cool also to hear stuff as in demos of songs recorded for other people that you never released yourself etc. should they exist)

I think somethin like this..it would go down well with the fans personally, none of your stuff per say is anyway seriously bootlegged so it would be all new material per say.. Just my 7 cents anyway...

Tis not a shite idea – I think it’s a top idea. Vinyl would be excellent but I could live with a CD box set quite happily.

I like the sound of that 8) I listened to Baby's Back for the first time in ages tonight, so that's tonight's suggestion for inclusion. I'd be incredibly interested to hear some unreleased demos...Go for it

Um - if 'Bits and Bobs' was the title you were thinking of - not so sure about that - could be misconstrued in lots of ways

What Eoin said - hope random stuff means 'instrumentals' ..>

If not Disc 4 'instrumentals' :*:

Top idea. ..>

Apologies to the purists, but CD format for me, don't have one of those spinning things you put black
frisbee's on so I've missed out on some stuff already. :|

Elbow did the B sides thing last year....Dead in the Boot.

Track 4......The Long War Shuffle has fantastic guitar on it, one of these I think.......but I'm only
guessing!

Go for it. :Hoorah

Not indulgent at all - only to the fans.

I bow to Eoin's suggestions, there are some great tracks out there that are either vinyl only or have been recorded from the ether from radio shows. We also need a "covers" disc perhaps - Words of Love springs to mind from the Kid Jensen show (sorry, does he still call himself Kid?), Early Morning Rain, Mystery Train, all those Little Walter and Fats Domino covers from the Janice Long show.........

And I'm desperate for a proper version of Get a Life, Hushabye Mountain and a better recording (I mean my copy which was taken from vinyl) of the alternative acoustic Can You Hear the Rain Love that was a B-side :D

I think it is an excellent idea, bring it on! ..>

The acoustic stuff that used to be on the website is brilliant and would be great to have in a format other than the wind tunnel MP3 I have- I'm On Nights etc. <*>

Yes i like the sound of that, vinyl and cds are good, artwork, words, info, these things are always better than stuff you cant see, that arrives into a stupid tiny thing that gets lost.

I made a compilation CD-R with B sides from CD and 7" singles, so as to be able to listen to all of them without having to change discs all the time when I'm in a lazy mood, so I think that having the same thing officially done would be a great idea. Given the choice, Eoin's three CDs would be fine, together with Poppy Dog's 4th CD and Little Dickie's DVD (by the way, I'd also like to have all the promo videos in a DVD, since those that come with the enhanced CD singles can only be watched in a computer... Or at least my DVD player won't reproduce them... Not to mention those that aren't available yet). Also, I'll buy it whether it comes out on vinyl or on CD. Probably both :*:.

The 'Flick' stuff would be good..

That live concert in Darmstadt, that would sound even better if it was remastered, dunno if that was an official thing or a bootleg though.

And them other tracks you did with Teenage Werewolf?
