http://www.bbc.co.uk/showsandtours/show ... es_14may13John Wilson returns with another series of conversations with legendary singers and songwriters - discussing the album that made them or changed them. Studio audiences will have the opportunity to put their questions to the artist and witness exclusive live performances of songs from the album.
Singer, songwriter and legendary guitarist Richard Hawley talks to John Wilson about the album which brought him from cult hero to critical and commercial solo success.
Mercury nominated and unique in sound Coles Corner appeared in 2005 but remains timeless. Drawing on inspiration from 1940s pop to rockabilly, jazz and blues Coles Corner drew huge critical acclaim and new fans to Hawley's music. Featuring tracks such as the lush orchestral The Ocean, the tender heartache of Born Under A Bad Sign and the restless melody of Just Like The Rain this is an album for lovers.
The title track sets the scene. Coles Corner is an infamous meeting place in Sheffield and despite the vintage influences the album could have come from no other time and place.
Working with Pulp and the Arctic Monkeys Richard Hawley has long been at the heart of the Sheffield music scene and the city has remained at the heart of his music. This is the album that really caused the rest of the world to take a closer look.
There will be a unique opportunity to ask Richard questions after the interview with John Wilson.
