dear richard hawley,

i've just joined the forum,
so not sure if this is the right place to ask this,
but, here goes...

i have an exhibition running at the minute, in god's own country,
at yorkshire sculpture park, not too far from sheffield.
it's called 'main street' and is set in my imaginery peninsula of darktown.

on feb 13th, we're having the first, & possibly only 'darktown valentines cabaret'
set in darktown's very own mermaid cafe, transposed to the YSP restaurant.

if you were around in sheffield at that time,
would you consider singing a song, possibly two?
i would happily pay you in books, prints, paintings, should you like what you see.

whilst i was putting the exhibition together, coles corner played a big part as a soundtrack (so much so, there are, i think, two or three pieces in my exhibition inspired by that album).

so, if you could grace us with your presence for even half an hour,
we, at the mermaid cafe cabaret team, would be delighted.
if you're too busy, or don't fancy it, no problem.
would you fancy being on our guest list? so you could enjoy the meal & the shenanigans as a viewer?
you'd be most welcome.

here's the link...

and strangely enough, I've just been told i have ticket to see you the week after, in my adopted home town of southampton.

cheers for now,
jonny hannah.

many thanks for your swift reply richard.
it's a shame you can't make it.

it's now very tempting to put on my elevator shoes,
a dark wig & murder a version of 'born under a bad sign'.

but no, i'll stick to '(ain't got) the shirley high street blues'.

looking forward to seeing you at the guildhall in old sotonia on feb 20th.

cheers, jonny.
