I saw an elsebound train, on the overpass
In the driving rain, every ticket costs the same
For where you can't go
Mustang horses, champagne glasses
Anything frail anything wild
It's the price of living motion, what's beautiful is broken
And grace is just the measure of a fall.

That's a damn fine weekend away! ..>

Can't make it! :(

On me hols! <*>

If you're making the effort to go see H, I can thoroughly recommend staying around for Gaz Coombes.
Saw him at The Leadmill earlier this year........top gig. ..>

No, I meant it will be my birthday on that weekend, well the day before to be precise. How, I hear you cry, could I forego the usual lavish treatment that I receive on my birthday, tear myself away from the hoard of presents, that one tube of anti-wrinkle cream bought by my other half on behalf of the children? The birthday night out, consisting of sitting in a freezing cold car park waiting for my son to finish athletics, or lugging huge brass instruments from the back of the car into some school hall somewhere? Sorting out pants/socks/PE kits/homework, doing the washing up, emptying the bins, picking up cheesy socks from the bathroom floor. Oh, the difficult choices that life presents us with... which way shall I go, as someone once said...?xxx

It is a great place with great food. Been a number of times, tried last time Richard played. it is impossible to get tickets as I think they give them them out through competitions, the church holds about 100 people! Anyway, first grandchild due on the 14th december  Can't wait to take her to concerts with me :*:

The reason they say they don't sell tickets which i agree with actually is that its not a gig per say but the recording of a TV show you are attending. Factor in the great demand and the limited capacity of the venue also obviously..

I was in Dingle over the summer for the first time since i was a kid and it is quite an amzing place. That whole area.. the scenery, pace of life and the general friendly nature of the people will take me back sooner rather then later. Worth visiting also is Annascul which is about 15 mins drive away still on the Dingle Peninsula. It was the home of the legendary explorer Tom Crean who retired to run a pub in the village called the South Pole Inn. The pub is still there today and is quite a magical cavern of welcoming and good times with lots of genuine Crean memorabilia and photos of the expeditions..

I love Dingle. Love it, love it, love it. Spent a few summer holidays there. We stay at a guest house run by Maggie. Swears like a trooper, has loads of rules, but a fantastic place which is right by the sea and she does amazing breakfasts. If only I could be there...Dingle and Hawley....it can't come much better than that.
