Richard..apparently you are on BBC 4 (28th July) in a Scott Walker tribute show; where was that done?

It takes place at the Royal Albert Hall on Tuesday.

All the details are in the 2017 gigs thread, it's the Scott Walker Prom which goes out live on BBC3 Radio on Tuesday night.

Jarvis and John Grant are also involved.

I've also listed on the Scott Walker thread all the radio programmes this week re Scott's career.

wow. what isn't there to say about this night???? All the artists did Scott justice. All 4 of Richard's songs were beyond lovely, as expected. Especially "It's Raining Today". It was almost as if the song was written for him to perform. Also was happy to hear his guitar, like a familiar friend.

highlight although for me was susanne sundfør. never heard of her before. looks like i've been missing out for a while! she was simply gorgeous on "On Your Own Again" & "Angels of Ashes". I must have listened to them 6 times already!

The orchestra was on point the entire show! sounded like everyone just sang over the original records.

Well done everyone. thank you for doing it. and thank you, scott.

Would just like to drop a message to Richard (and everyone else) and say thanks for being part of the show and doing a great job with all of Scott's songs.

I've been honoured to look after Scott's social media accounts (Facebook and such) for the past 5 years or so and even put together and performed my own mini SW prom in New York with lots of wonderful singers (some you may have heard of, John Grant was even meant to sing but we couldn't work out the scheduling... even a guest appearance from Sean Lennon weirdly enough) so I know how hard these events are to put together and perform and how seriously people take Scott's music (myself included).

So from someone whose had Scott in his veins for a while (not to mention your own music) just wanted to tip my hat and say good job and thanks :)

Have to fully agree with Listen2Gene, Suzanne Sundfør took my breath away with her voice and rendition of the Scott Walker tracks she covered, can't stop watching/listening to them. Looked her up on iTunes and she does have a couple of albums on there, but, they are of an electronic type and she doesn't actually "sing" like she did at the tribute, which is a real shame because she has an absolutely amazing voice

Beautifully polished performances from all artists involved. Such a high quality concert merits full length official video and audio releases. Hope this happens.

That really was excellent all round, and great hearing Richard perform songs we wouldn't normally get to hear him sing. And was that a rare appearance of THE Gibson 335? Always adds a little extra magic :thumleft:

Absolutely loved the show. I've been a huge Scott Walker fan ever since I can remember.

It was great to hear Richard cover some of Scott's songs. I remember when Coles Corner was first released, it reminded me of Scott's work from the late 60s.

The highlights of the show (for me) where Richard's take on Montague Crescent (including the short guitar solos) and Susanne Sundfor's version of Amorous Humphrey Plugg.

I can only imagine how magical it must have been to see this live at the Albert Hall.
