Own a piece of musical heritage and help continue the fight against cancer. During 2019 I’ve (Mike Pidgeon) been helped by many friends, many of them musicians, in raising money for cancer support charities through a series of wonderful gigs in the Backroom at the Greystones. After my own battle with Oesophageal cancer, which I was diagnosed with in 2017, I decided to help raise funds to support those who helped me through this difficult time and continue to help others in a similar position. In excess of £11,000 has been raised so far this year. And now my good friend and musical legend Richard Hawley has donated two wonderful and personal items from his musical past to help increase the overall funds even further. Richard, known for his sartorial elegance as well as his fantastic music, has given me the superb suits he wore for the actual cover shots of his Coles Corner and Lady’s Bridge albums. These suits are unique items of musical heritage that I am now auctioning off. If you’d like to make a bid for the suits email me at Greystonesevents@thornbridge.co.uk no later than midnight on the 31st December. Will be posting the current leading bids on the Greystones website http://www.mygreystones.co.uk/ on a daily basis between now and then so you can see how the bids are going. As an added bonus Richard will present the suits in person along with signed copies of the albums. 100% of the monies raised will go to Cancer Research UK, and local Sheffield charities St. Lukes Hospice and Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity, who were instrumental in aiding my recovery and continue to support others with similar diagnosis.
