which is i reckon more important than the first one you bought...as fun and potentially embarrasing as that clearly is!...it was brought back to mind during the No Direction Home film when Dylan said about hearing that first record made him feel like he was in another place...i remember it like it was yesterday, stood staring at this orange label with huge writing on it going round and this magical sound, confusing the hell out of me, i was six and i swear i saw lights...

Lordy! Too many to mention. My earliest memory is watching Top Of The Pops, 75/76, seeing Elton John & Kiki Dee, Disco Duck and Bohemian Rhapsody.

I used to run round the house shouting JIVE TALKING (bee gees), STREET LIFE (Roxy Music) and even ROXY MUSIC (although I said USMIC) and BRYAN FERRY (that was said as BYAN FEDDY).

So I'll say Street Life, as that's had the most last impact on my life/memory...

I thought you'd already had them in about that name spelling fiasco.

At least they didn't make you listen to Phil Collins !!

I'd be worse. I'd probably forget your name altogether.

From what I remember it was Beatles, Beatles, Beatles (they were quite big at the time  ) all over the place. Perhaps not surprisingly, I've not been much of a fan since.

Ruby, dont take your love to town - Kenny Rodgers and The New Edition.

A song that came out when I was about 2 and my mum tells me I went round singing for ages!! I still love the song and played it in the dog the other night!!

I remember listening to a soundtrack recording of "Around the World in 80 Days" over and over again - I think it was from the 1956 film with David Niven, but it's so long ago that I can't be sure. My mother used to listen to Joni Mitchell's For the Roses and Ladies of the Canyon, so those records always bring me back to my early childhood.

For me, it was Runaway by Del Shannon. Still one of my favourite records ever!

I remember lots of random seeming sounds, but the first track I consciously remembered is my father playing Blondie's Heart of Glass somewhere round '83.
