If you were not a musician, in what other direction would you want your creativity to go?

i have always loved wood,and i once thought about being a carpenter,but i would be the only one wi a roadie.Actually it might have drawn me closer to music as i have been awazed by luthiers(instrument makers,guitar mostly)

Good point Richard. When I first picked up the guitar I had no idea how complex an instrument it really is. I read a book about the inner workings of a guitar a few years ago and it really helped me appreciate it a great deal more.
On a personal level though, without music I honestly don't know what I would do to fill that gap. I would probably have sociability and personality problems.

Oh ....lovely...............and what about a ship's figurehead,there are some incredible ones on the Isles of Scilly.
There is a little museum,it's outside actually in the grounds of the Abbey ,there are about 10 figureheads all found in the waters off the islands.
They are beautiful.........all carved individually ......its really atmospheric there........particularly as it starts to get dark.

i have been i share your vibe.all things to do with ships i love,you should see the vasa in stockholm if you can i stood in total silence for an hour in awe




its a 17th century galleon perfectly preserved cos the baltic sea has a low salinity ratio so they don't have the wood destroying toreno worm in that sea it sank on its maiden voyage and was dredged up in the 60's.....beautiful

I,ve watched a tall ship sail out of Charleston............there is a always the sound of creaking wood as she makes her way out into the bay....................................................................................................................I love that.

North carolina?I have been there i played a gig many years ago,i went to a museum that i read an exhibit about pirates,it talked about how Blackbeard blockaded the harbour sank five ships and ransomed the town early 18th century i think.

Maybe you should consider a gig in my lovely home town of Portsmouth? HMS Victory, the Mary Rose, enough war memorials to elicit tears that would fill an ocean .... and the Gosport ferry ... the old sea forts ... The Solent, the Isle of Wight, Portsdown Hill and an amazing sea vista ...

.... have I convinced you yet?
