I heard them the other day and I think they're awful to be honest
liked the big wall of sound production but that's all

I agree with Cominghome. The louder the better, for sure!

I like it, too, when new music can divide people's opinions as clearly as they seem to have managed. It means you're really moving people, one way or another.
Who wants mediocrity? Not me!

A modern record i like  helps if you live up near or in Glasgow too-certainly believes in it the lad who sings.

Glad to see a lot of people like this band (having started the topic last year!)
Interestingly, i remember looking on their website a while ago, and it had some blurb about the band and it listed their influnces. From memory there were only 3 - Spector, Elvis, and Richard Hawley!
Maybe a collaboration at some point similar to the Elbow one??

I see they are supporting the Bunnymen for their 30th anniversary gig at the Echo Arena, Liverpool, in November.

You'll have to team up with Will for some canalside boozing along the Leeds-Liverpool canal in West Lancashire - he's gone all rural.

noooo :(

was quite let down by the album in the end. Had some dreadfully clumsy lyrics. I'll give it another spin but i'm a bit disheartened as i was looking forward to the album.

really wanted to like this album - but did'nt - a few good songs but they aint the best thing since.........the last best thing
Just had a feeling of the proclaimers ( with Glasgow accents) meets the Jesus and Mary Chain. Musically and lyrically does not come close to the Artic monkeys.
Still maybe the second album will meet the hype they have attracted.

just thinking it's all the hype that's putting people off Glasvegas.

Hyping them to the max like they did with Arctic Monkeys and The klaxons like they do with every 'upcoming' band.

It's all the hype that makes people think they might be crap when they're OK (as if they might need all the hype when they don't).
Let people decide for themselves what they think.
