Oh yeah, from the top of a new building in that area. Hawley makes a speech - the one about the floods and how he was in the pub texting piccies of Guinness to the while they were trapped in the studio and then manages to work out how to open the velvet puppet theatre curtains to reveal the plaque then the fireworks went off...hehehe! Such splendour! :D

Whaddaya mean no moaning?!!

I travelled a vast distance (10 mins in the car) at great expense (50p to park) and got to see the man himself give a moderately funny speech to re-open a historic local landmark surrounded by family, friends, fans and local dignitaries, ending with some quite good fireworks (the latter being totally free) - all of which was covered by local press and TV.

Where do I apply for a refund?

ONLY jesting folks. All kudos to the poor bloke for dragging himself out of bed to do this. Would spending far too many hours in a cold. damp cave recently be to blame?

mmm - not guilty! I was so far back my germs would have keeled over with exhaustion or died of hypothermia before they reached the stage

Likewise. I regularly sterilize my germs in medicinal alcohol

"medicinal alcohol" - not tried that type. Guess that means it's totally safe and without any nasty side effects?
