First time I've posted on the forum. I know there's two gasometers at the end of Tyler Street at Brightside, but they've got a frame round them like the one in the photo.

Just a thought.

Thanks again for the info. Especially the opening of the University, that would explain why there is an glass negative of the University. It didn't seem to fit in with the rest of the photographs. So thats sorted that out.

Here are some punters waiting for Mr Edward VII and his Mrs. What amuses me about this photograph is the guy has somehow managed to balance his entire family on a plank! Also they don't seem to have stairs in their property and use a ladder instead.

This is a view of 'West End Hotel', and people waiting around for the King and Queen.

Spent a while searching on an old map of Sheffield for Gasometers - 'my Sheffield' has a 1935 map on their website - thought it may have been Anchor Ales so looked up the site of the brewery - all to no avail...

Good luck with the search...

The photo is of the 1907 Gowers and Burgon's Annual General Meeting the secretary is taking the minutes and counting and the chairman with the straw boater is taking a show of hands as to whether it should be a bully beef or potted meat paste promotion for the coming year...apart from that I potential hypothesis.. I don't really know

This would be a view from Bacon Island the pub in the background is the Neepsend Tavern.

Hey, this is brilliant!

It's good to know where these were taken at last. The pub in the background is The Neepsend Tavern...shown from the other side of these two photographs.
