Sounds like somewhere I should go next time I visit, they have gluten free cake and good prices.

Snap - and they sell books too! :D

Well that was a good weekend. For a first attempt i thought it was excellent. Didn't see jack man dung of the main stage and found more than enough going off elsewhere.

Friday night i wasn't expecting to see much as i was out with people from work just for the night out as opposed to any plan to see bands as such. Saw some band in the Frog & Parrot whose name i forget and wouldn't care to remember anyway. Caught the very end of The Crookes at The Forum and wished i'd got their sooner. Got to see most of Little Lost David who was in great form and heard a little bit of The Lost Brothers who i really like to have seen more of as they sounded great. Didn't see anymore after that on Friday until whoever was DJing in The Shakespeare about 3...

Saturday i got to The Grapes just as La Folie were starting up but couldn't even get anywhere near the back so gave up and headed to Division Street and saw a few odds and sods up there. Spent most of the night at The Shakespeare where The Listners were fantastic (and a reasonable crowd considering where it was in relation to everything else going off).

First thing i saw on Sunday was Driftrun on the stage on the Moor. Not really my kind of thing but i actually enjoyed it a lot. Another great set from The Crookes in The Grapes and it was worth getting soaked through seeing Neil McSweeney on the City Hall steps. Last port of call was the wonderfully intimate Rude Shipyard to see The Payroll Union. Highlight of the day came in The Grapes with the song about gay pirates from Cosmo Jarvis.

I saw a few bands i wouldn't usually have bothered to make the effort to go and see, went to places i rarely bother to make the effort to go to (or in some case hadn't even been before). Did i get to see everything i'd have wanted to? No, but who ever does at a festival? Did i still manage to enjoy a great weekend and hope it comes back even better next year? Hell yes!

But surely, God, you're omnipresent. Couldn't you get to the whole thing?

It really was an amazing weekend and those just brought it all back. So hope they do it again next year.

oh hello, I am a little late to this. I really enjoyed the Tramlines weekend and was not put off by the rain on the Sunday. It was extremely well organised and great fun. I love Sheffield and have great pride in the music venues and talent in this city. I echo the sentiments and hope it has many happy returns.
