Roger was a well known drummer from the same era as Dave Hawley. He played in many bands, including New Jersey Turnpike and the Daizies.

He fought a long battle with cancer, as they say 'With courage and dignity', and was able to fulfill his wish to die at home. He will be sadly missed.

Mal called me to tell me the sad news,he will indeed be missed,he was the definition of a"Gentle man"so sad my thoughts are with his wife and family

Roger's funeral is Monday 6th July at Herringthorpe Crematorium, off Herringthorpe Valley Road, at 2:20pm.

I'm sure there will be many well known names attending to show their respects.

After the service, an open air stage at Woodlands Club, Rotherham, will host a live music tribute featuring fellow musicians and friends. All are welcome.

and what a send off we gave the great man lovely to see you graham along with a host of old friends,despite the immense sadness of the occassion we all made the best of it and played for Issy and his family my heart goes out to them
