Well, I know you like the Longpigs, but are they really up their with the likes of Pulp and The Human Leagues Dare albums?

I put the Longpigs above a load of bands. They're in my top 10 definitely.

I'm not a huge fan of the 80's 'sound' so I agree with Claire about a few of the bands up there not being my cup o' tea.

The 80's were just a diluted tribute to bowie until GnR and the roses came along anyway (hehehehehe). Except the Smiths. Obviously.

Only joking ponty keep your wig on!

LP :Oink:

Tough one! I'd have to pick a pair of joint winners.

The Human League - Dare
Heaven 17 - Penthouse And Pavement

I know it's too early to tell yet but the latest Moloko one is up there at the moment too.

I'm surprised we didn't have any prominent Sheffield reggae bands in the late 70s/early 80s. I remember seeing a lot of good, rootsy reggae bands rehearsing at the Hub on Sharrow Lane when I was a scruffy teenager hanging about in me scruffy clothes, smoking fags. We used to climb up on the school wall and listen to those deep bass notes vibrating the whole building. I think Steel Pulse and Aswad were the inspiration for all that.

Yeah Dave Berry's something of an antiques expert, he did a YTV antiques quiz thing not long ago with Richard "Twice Nightly" Whitely presenting it.

And as for the original poll... His N Hers is way better than Different Class, does anyone agree?
