Strange request this, but then I am strange.

I am in Sheffield tomorrow to watch Morrissey at the City Hall. I have a meeting in County Durham in the morning and should be in Sheffield by mid-afternoon because there is no point driving back to Manchester, just to head back from whence I came.

Anyway, I need a haircut and never seem to get chance to get it done. So, my plan is to have a haircut in Sheffield tomorrow, given that I'll have time to kill. Can anybody recommend a decent barbers shop? I'm not after owt fancy and it doesn't have to be in the centre of Sheffield either. I have sat-nav, so I'll find it, even if it's in a village.

Cheers in advance...

P.S. I'm driving, so can't have a session but if anybody can recommend a decent pub near City Hall where I can get a pie n a pint then that'd be great.

Take it this means Morrissey is ok now - that's good.

Can't help with the barbers but you really should go to Fagan's if you can - great bar and the food's lovely.

(No idea if it's near the City Hall but I wouldn't have thought it can be too far away).

Cheers Maggie. Do they do food in Fagans at tea time? Last time I went, they didn't but then again, it was a Sunday...

Moz is fine and apparently played a great show at Royal Albert Hall on Tuesday. He's in Leeds tonight.

Fagan's is a five minute walk from City Hall at most if you're sober.

Never used a barbers in town. There are loads around Hillsborough but the one i used to go to is now shut. So that's helpful.

I've only been once, on a Saturday and they did then - sure someone will know - I hope they do, much better than ending up with a burger or whatever.

Perfect. There is a car park right by Fagans too. I never need an excuse to go to a pub as good as that, so that's me sorted for me tea.

Yeah they do food at tea time in the week.

If you're coming in from Manc over the Snake Pass, try Denise's Barber's on the corner of Crookes Road and Bole Hill lane, S10 My other half has been going there for 6 years. Its very basic, with a big dog on the floor apparently, but he always turns out very nice (if i am somewhat biased).

Have a good one!

If you're going at tea time, park in the one opposite. It's free after either 6 or 6.30. The one at the side you have to pay up until 8.

I'll actually be driiving down from Durham and then driving to Manchester after the gig but I'll have plenty of time, so Crookes Road/Bole Hill Lane might be the one.

When you say "he always turns out very nice" are you talking about your husbannd or the big dog?

I found Denise's and it was just the job but cheers.

Fagans Lass, if your fella is planning a hair cut in the next fortnight, he needs to know that Denise is on a Caribbean cruise and so only Caroline will be there. You always find out about holidays in a barbers!

If anyone is interested, I had the fish, chips and peas in Fagans and it was spot on.

Holiday message received and passed on. Thanks for the update!

Had tea in Fagan's myself tonight. Damn nice it was too. 8)
