On the tranzAlpine train today we went through Sheffield NZ...named after Sheffield in Yorkshire as our guide told us....but very different....a population of 150.....and the only thing I saw to make an impact was a huge banner proclaiming....

one of my friends lives near there, he moved over from Sheffield last year, he sent me a picture of him sat on the sign on the edge of town...

There is also a Rotherham!

....maybe a population of 151 then....

Also saw a bus going to Sheffield Crescent in Christchurch......
