Went walking the dog up at Forge Dam this morning and saw a notice that the cafe there is closing for re-furbishment. I think the dates of closure were around mid November, with the re-opening being in time for Christmas.
I nominate Fred the collie to cut the tapes on re-opening day! Although my mad terrier Tizzy would gladly fight him for the privelige.

Apparently there will be facilities to serve hot drinks but it looks like the sausage butties will need to go on hold.

I nicked the lines

''And the cafe was still there too; the same press-in plastic letters on the price list and scuffed formica-top tables''

from Wickerman for my A Level (well, Irish equivalent) English exam.
Great to read that it still exists. I should really do a Pulp/Hawley tour of Sheffield one day.

Just seen a pic of it, from pulpwiki.net

If I had the money and could buy some land and build my own house it would look pretty much like that...

I love weathered corrugated sheeting as a roofing material
