Just noticed that Robin Trower (truly fantastic blues rock guitarist) is playing at Sheffield's O2 on Friday. Now, this guy is hardly a household name, so I would imagine that it will be far from sold out but would I need to get a ticket before I travel down?

I have never been to any o2 venue, let alone the one in Sheffield, so really haven't a clue as how to play this one!. Also, what time is it likely to finish?

Hmm, I also wonder if the 'boss' will be there??

Ciao

I'd have thought you could get in on the night, went to see the Bluetones last night and we were out by 11pm.
Enjoy Robin, was tempted to go myself but i am gigging!

Thanks - someone else has pointed out that there is no box office - so I'll need to print a ticket off with a barcode. Hmm, all depends on work as Friday is my busiest day and I'm often held up for ages...

Seems to me like the O2 are missing a trick as Trower can't attract many folks these days, surely!

Whoops - sorry for the delay in responding as I'm still in shock and awe. He was incredible - I was only about 10 feet away and could see how he did all his tricks. Superb night and I'm amazed that he can still play as well as he did 35 years ago!!!

Had trouble parking near to the o2, and eventually found a spot nr a BMW dealer - after the gig I got completely lost in Sheffield and ended up wandering around completely deserted (shopping/office) areas that must be buzzing during the day. Saying that I find Sheffield a much more homely place than Leeds, with Sheffield feeling friendlier and much safer for some reason.
