On my trip to Cardiff last month, I came up short. I tried a few groceries and specialty shops. One kept offering Gentleman's Relish in a superior tone to "stupid tourist." Probably a good thing I didn't have it my luggage. A black wax wrapped cheese and black paper-wrapped "bath ballistic" with the giant words FIGHT ANIMAL TESTING (last minute gift) were enough trouble.

Still no luck for this Yank. We need an airlift!

Karen, I know exactly what you're talking about on both counts! One time I got pulled out of line for having Lush bath bombs in my carry-on (you know, because if you were carrying an actual bomb, it would totally be labeled "bomb"--I mean that's just common sense), AND, I will completely go halvsies with you on a vat of Henderson's if you are so inclined. I am serious, this is how much I want to try it. :) Let me know if you're down!

My hostess didn't know we have Lush here now. And guess what? Stopped at a grocery here and there was a giant bin of the Welsh Black Bomber cheese! I realized at the airport neither were a bright idea. They probably more suspected a potential demented person than an actual threat.

I think we can't get Hendos here due to the secret recipe. It's going to be pricey to have it shipped, but let's try!

The old Hendos factory has been bought by Sheffield Uni and is to be turned into a pub

Better than it being left to get derelict, surely - as LONG as it is maintained with the current facade/exterior intact and than the long history of the building is kept intact too so when you go in for a drink you know exactly where you are - a pub but one which will always be the Hendo's building. Those are my criteria  I get the impression from what I've heard that this is what is being aimed at but we shall see.

I'll bet it will be Hoxton comes to Sheffield though...has Thornbridge got it?..that would be good for starters...

Don't loose your heritage...you have micro breweries why not a micro Hendo facility as a part of the pub...
