The old Roxy apparently is having a 3 million quid refit and turned into a new music venue, Carling Acadamy jobbie! James are playing there on 15th April....should be a good 'un!

.....I wonder if they'll still have 'grab a granny' night on Thursdays? :?

Much as I love james and I'll certainly be at the gig on April 15, I really think they should have a proper Sheffield artist to play on the very first night. Can anyone think of anybody who would fit the bill?

Well they certainly fit the bill as a top Sheffield act and if that is the first night then it's not a bad way to start. I thought they might be asking Richard....

.....to see if he could think of anybody

It's about time they did something with that place!

I only went a couple of times back in the early 90s, jeez, it was horrendous! Proper cattle market.

Should be areally good venue. Its certainly been needed in Sheff for sometime as we lack a midsized venue between the Octagon and Arena. Got my tickets on Thursday for the Rev gig

Me 'n' Jane have got our tickets for James booked. We are right excitied. Although suspect that we will feel really quite old as we last went to see James when we were about 17. :eh?

Still, we got very giddy when we saw the announcement so that's all good! :Hoorah

Don't worry. There are at least 2 cars of thirty-somethings travelling over from Manchester that night :D

The idea of a cold and clinical corporate venue that serves Carling has failed to spark any great excitement for me. :pale:

The last time you got outwardly excited about anything was on a trip to a Woburn Safari park in 1997 with your parents while motoring through the babboon section.
