I was awake at 1a.m. here in north Liverpool and the room started vibrating. Thought at first it was the effect of my husband's snoring :*: It was a weird sensation - the wardrobe mirror was sort-of shimmering

Just heard from my sister that it was pretty scary where she lives (Gedling, Notts) as they are high up on top of lots of old coal mines. She ended up with her 12 year old twin boys in bed with her and the dog at their feet.

We have some birds in a cage in the next room. They were in the dark and asleep. They started going mad in the cage, flapping about making a noise. Then I felt my chair shaking, for a moment I thought the flapping of the birds wings had caused my chair to shake. Then I thought, no it's a tremor. Janice Long was on the radio and had lots of callers from all over the country ringing in about it.

I have been upstairs when we have had minor earthquakes in the past. They seemed much worse, but the epicentre may have been nearer to here.

I didn't hear or feel a thing. My husband always said I could sleep through an earthquake :*: :*: :*: :*:
