Just been to see this amazing film, Daniel Day Lewis is such a great actor, have been a fan of his work for a long time.Would recommend this intense and dramatic film highly.

I saw that advertised on the Tube when I was in London last week and the promo stuff looked interesting - thanks for the recommendation

It really is the muts nuts that film... I have been envious of Daniel Day-Lewis' moustache since gangs of new york but this one is something else... He deserved his oscar as well...

I loved Daniel Day-Lewis’ performance and the energy he put into it but was a little disappointed with the ending.

Essentially the story of a misanthrope, it's never entirely explained why he has become the way he is. A little background and historical placement would have been useful (the depression period is entirely glossed over for instance).

It’s a classic story of how power and wealth don’t lead to happiness and how corruption can set in. It reminded me of the Godfather II film in this respect as Al Pacino’s character becomes gradually more twisted and committing similar atrocities in his ascension.

Despite the flaws in the storyline it has the visual and aural impact of an epic film and is an artistic feast. Very much enjoyed it :) .
