I hate generalisations, especially relating to an entire nation. It's just ridiculous trying to come up with a sweeping statement about everybody in a country & a lot of the time they don't seem to try particularly hard. Just whatever fits with the current news item or whatever.

& those 'surveys' annoy me too. The ones that say '75% of British women...' or similar. I've never been asked. Ever. They lie.

Erm... my "panties" may have been "in a twist" FOUR months ago, when I wrote that.... :?
Either that, or it could have been that I started a debate for discussion on an internet forum. A debate that, it seems, a few people seem to have enjoyed contributing to in a serious manner.
Any other (ahem) intelligent comments to add, darkness77?

all those surveys are done the same. They ask 100 people out shopping in Milton Keynes then multiply the answer by the questioners national insurance number , then divide it by his/her shoe size which finally gives you the answer that whoever paid for the survey wanted in the first place.

I thought I was doing the facetious responses on this thread...

Anyway, at the risk of generalisation - see what the good folk of Ireland have voted as their Eurovision entry. As Spinal Tap say, there's a fine line between clever and stupid

Irish the friendliest in the world? I'll tell you in a few weeks after a stag do in Dublin. Too old for all this at 40.

I've been to Dublin around 20 times over the last 15 years and Dubliners generally seem less patient and more focussed on making a buck as the years go by.

We've been over as a family and some places looked at us like we were asking if the Pope has got a big cock. Mind you, we found that in Mousehole, Cornwall, the other year as well. No, not the Pope's big cock. How do you know anyway?

Yes, generalisations can be dangerous. We're used to that in Liverpool though. Hey, wez me hubcaps? Calm down, etc.
