Mr H, can you tell me/we the story behind this song please. It's one of my favourites, can't stop blasting it out when i'm driving around at work.
The drum work is f@cking excellent, is that Dean? I don't have any sleeve notes for Late Night Final.
Any plans to do it live also?

i would have asked if he'd got any fags mind,

It's a great track, nice and jazzy as in (jazz) not meaning overproduced.

i have read many true accounts of people who were marooned, mainly pirates, and the horror of it makes me shudder there's a great book about Alexander Selkirk who was the inspiration for Robinson Crusoe,he spent five years alone on an island when he got back to england he was a celebrated figure even though apparently he was one of the vilest pirates who ever lived,he drank himself to death within two years

happy days

There's a Stephen King story called Survivor Type about a bloke who is marooned after a plane goes down and he's forced to eat himself. Must dig it out and read it again. (No plane journeys planned, thankfully!)

Well, I don't have the slightest... not being a regular cannibal myself.

The full title of the book (oh, blimey, it can be bought at amazon; I've been looking for it for more than 20 years  ) reads:

Cannibalism and the Common Law: The Story of the Tragic Last Voyage of the Mignonette and the Strange Legal Proceedings to Which It Gave Rise by A. W. Brian Simpson

and I've just found an abstract of a review, too:
"The famous case Regina v. Dudley is the focus of Brian Simpson’s Cannibalism and the Common Law. Jurisprudentially, Regina v. Dudley poses in the starkest terms the question whether the ordinary law of homicide should apply in desperate circumstances. The net effect of Simpson’s work is to turn Regina v. Dudley from a case upholding a principle into the story of a victim, Tom Dudley."

Alright, "Precious Sight" then? love it.
