Hello Richard

Bought this at the weekend Richard and cannot stop listening to it - I hear all the Scott Walker influences and stuff but methinks a little of the Hawley in it too - Just wondered if you had heard it and what you thought?

It is a very accomplished musical album - from two 22 year old fellas. The strings are very nicely done and the songs are just spot on. Makes you wonder what Alex Turner will produce if he keeps developing this quickly as a musician.

I think it´s a pretty good album;i would define it as a sublime blend of the best cliches in Scott Walker and Richard Hawley´s music with a strong influence from the 60´s,Morricone,Bucharach and stuff without falling on the pastiche;which is something i really appreciate in these times where you don´t know when something is "retro" "cool" "trendy" or bullshit like that.Anyway of course Alex and the guy from The Rascals,Miles,i think he´s called plus the other musicians and producers involved in the album got the credit.

Double appreciated coming from two chavs my age,but how fabulous chavs they are, aren´t they?

xCharlie.

Oh and well my favourite songs on the album are:"the time has come again","meeting place" and "standing next to me".Wicked.
