Oh god, so my kids wanted a ferret...alright fair enough, I browsed the local craigslist and today found one close by....except I also found a posting about a female pit bull who needed a home now or she was going to the pound...oh and she hates cats...right then, I volunteer at the pound and I know that no pit bull that isn't the reincarnation of Ghandi gets out of that place alive.
I agreed to babysit her for 10 days.
Now my dog flippin hates having other dogs in his house so I am having to keep them separate....both the dogs want to eat the fucking ferret, in alternate shifts and I have a storming cold and a poorly thumb
Life is great.

Baby girl...the contender.

It's a mad house around here, my husband will probably get back in the car and head back to Arizona after a day or two of this insanity.

I like ferrets. My Dad once found one whilst out walking the dog. He brought it home in his coat. My Mum wasn't keen on it, so he gave it to a friend. Lost animals always found their way to my Dad. Once he opened the front door to bring in the milk & there was a duck on the doorstep! He took it to the park thinking it was from the pond there, only to find out it belonged to someone in the next street! :?

They're all beautiful... You're not soft, you're doing a good deed! Hope your cold goes away soon and your thumb feels better.

(I always wanted a ferret when I was little, but there were always cats.)

They all look gorgeous.

My son wants one of those giant rabbits - have you SEEN the size of those things? I think it would take over the house and we would have to live in its hutch

Our house used to be like a zoo. We have had ferrets, gerbils, hamsters, chinchillas, chipmonks, tortoises, newts, snakes and lots of different kinds of lizards. We had wall to wall vivariums at one time. Thats on top of the usual parakeets, finches and dogs. We had owls and other birds of prey at one time. We are down to 3 parrots in the house and about 25 birds in the aviary. Bliss.

Fabulous, Susie. Love aviaries (but only for domestic bred birds), grew up surrounded by birds and dogs. One of those things from childhood that I've always loved.

The ferret is cuuute!
Love the pink nose! It looks mightily content! Bet it thinks it's fallen on it's feet and landed in clover.

Good for you, mylifesexample. You are doing very kind work there.
