I can't be bothered to rant about it but I'm certainly very against it once my knee's stopped jerking. I'll argue the toss vigourously though if anyone's for it.

But what's thrown my world completely off it's axis is the fact that I've been reading about David Davies quitting over the issue, agreeing with everything he said, and I'm thinking "good on him". Him, of all people. Labour's going even more right wing by the day and a blue blooded Tory is standing up for liberty and been praised by Shami Chakrabati.

I know it's been said on here countless times but I despair with Labour, I really do..

It isn't a labour government & I refuse to recognise it as one. It doesn't do what the old Labour Party was there to do. When was the last time you heard ANY of them mention the word socialism?

With you on this one snapper. Utter madness, how could Labour betray its commitment to civil liberties ... I'm ashamed. It's a populist knee-jerk nonsense, all the old Labour guard in the Lords will chuck it out anyway. If they want to get tough with anyone I wish it'd be Shell and BP at the moment.

we fought a civil war over this shit plus countless strike's and protests through terrible poverty so these utter bastards can throw it all away for spin and vote winning, they are utterly clueless idiots who haven't got the vaguest grasp of what is really happening in this country.........and the alternative is?

In a supermarket you can choose from a million options, there are a thousand options for TV,Radio,Pizza and craP WE DON'T NEED OR WANT...but the options for politics are minimal at best......THATS the reality of modern democracy, all for the benefit of the businness man, commerce and the shit head developers but nothing for the folk on the street they want us sedate and fat headed so they think we don't notice

There is no alternative ... Cameron   ... even worse ... if that's possible at the moment.

I just have to keep reminding myself of the amount of money over the last ten years that has gone into education, health, attempting to reduce poverty .... and yet things don't seem to be improving ... I need to go back and do a bit of reading from the 1930s ... Greenwood's Love On The Dole; Cronin's The Citadel and The Stars Shine Down; Holtby's South Riding .... remind myself of the progress that has been made even when it seems not.

It's all crap isn't it. :(
