Not refering to you Richard my response was based on the Las Vegas act comment that Denisc made which has been clarified.

Glad this is cleared up rcpinsa, sorry about the Las Vegas comment, should have made myself more clear in what I was trying to say and least we all agree Neil Diamond rocks.

Hm, who was it then? And why do I think it was him?

Apparently it was written by John Stewart, former member of The Kingston Trio ("Tom Dooley" etc.). :study:

Ta (can't access me iTunes at the moment to see what is what as the song came up in the list when I put Neil's name in. Some security update is running which is stopping me opening some programs.

It's funny, I thought he'd written that as well but it was actually 'I'm a believer' that Neil wrote

Sorry, I've just read back and you'd already included 'I'm a believer' on your list, Denise - I'll go and sit somewhere quiet for a minute   it's my age you know!

Tribute to Neil Diamond paid both verbally and vocally by Elvis on his 1970 'On Stage' album. That's always been good enough recommendation for me.

Elvis did a good version of "Sweet Caroline", pity he did`nt record more of ND early stuff as it would have really suited him.

I've been a Neil Diamond fan for years - my favourite albums are his Movies album and Twelve Songs. I saw him live in Manchester about five years back and he was amazing. It was an expensive gig but worth every pound; the guy is so polished and professional and so talented, but very warm to his audience .... hmmm, do we know anyone else like that?

Hey Jan, I was there too, he had Nerina Pallot as support. It was a great night. I certainly can't afford to go and see him on his current tour. :( I love 12 songs but his songs on the Hot August Night album are my favourites.

Strangely a couple of years ago my Hubby had some music on in the front room and I asked him if he was listening to Neil Diamond. He was actually listening to Richard Hawley.
