I have one of the older type Zen Vision M players and I've been really pleased with it. The sound quality is excellent and, as a not very proficient IT person. I find it easy to really easy to use. I might look at the new credit card ones when I visit my son in US next month as they're usually cheaper over there.

.......... I know this is off-topic but I feel I have to comment (without being dragged into a conversation!)

I think that's actually quite a sad way of looking at the people who post on this forum - they're aren't that many regular posters .. and in my experience they're all genuine fans of RH and really supportive of each other .....

It's relevant to me...keep it here. It's probably saved me hours of problems, as I have over 19,000 songs on my iPod...

Okay - a couple of tips from their discussion forums, turn off the firewall, and then try what this guy did:

Update Hangs During Restore and Can't Complete
Posted: Aug 20, 2008 3:13 PM

I had this same problem and re-downloaded 2.0.2, trashing my first attempt. It turns out it was corrupted and the second download loaded just fine.

Same here my restore froze at about 99.9% so I had to end the iTunes app by stopping the process in task manager. I had to hold the sleep and home button to perform a hard start, then open iTunes again, it was worth the update though because of all the bug fix, noticeably the type lag in Safari and apps running much smoother

They also say to choose the 'restore as new phone' option.

Some users quote more than 5 hours, others say it only took 12 minutes to install!

Firewall - on Windows it's found in the security centre.

I can't answer the other question.

Actually you should have the last back up somewhere on your computer, there is one created every time you connect but I don't know where it gets stored - somewhere in the Apple folder possibly in mobile applications file.

Just go to the Apple store, look neither to right nor left, go through their door, throw iPhone at them and don't look at any other merchandise.

But you could go to John Lewis Cambridge of course :*:

But I was thinking of one of those external hard-drive things for backing stuff up. And there are other things that look shiny and tempting ... perhaps I should leave my purse at home :?

You need an external hard drive to back up on, John Lewis Cambridge should have this tasty little item for your Mac

Didn't think we did bluetooth headphones for mobiles! The only phones we had specifically for the iPhone (because of the inset jack) were the vModa ones but they are wired. The Apple one is a small oblong for one ear, specifically for the phone rather than for listening to music.

don't bother updating your itunes to the new version 8.2.1 if you use a Palm Pre, could cause you a few problems...

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/8155795.stm

give it a week or so and I'm sure they'll be a 'fix' to make it work again :)
