some thoughts on the gigs this tour

band- tighter than a gnats growler

vocals- stronger than ever

still love that mirrorball

Given the increasing abundance of certain "hairstyles" at the gigs how about adding Rockabilly Radio after Serious?

ah go on

thought that this gig was great. richard and the other gentlemen seemed chilled and seemed to really enjoy the evening.
thanks so much for signing the autographs for my son Andrew. he thinks that you are all "leg" which is "legendary" ,
anyway, sure that you are all having much needed r and r in the bosom of your families, and looking forward to the heat of benincasm. should be a blast.
p.s all the irish broadsheets rated your oxygen performance as classy, and "a cut above".
enjoy spain. lucky buggers. yes know its work 8)  butl lucky buggers, nonetheless.

Lucky buggers indeed, Brenda!
It was a special night, wasn't it? Maybe we'll meet up at the next one.

if you saw the stage and flight times you wouldn't be saying that touring is brutal you have to be wired a certain way to cope most don't i know cos i have seen over the years some pretty tough characters come very unglued on tour however i enjoy it despite the madness...i want my head looking at

fair play to ye. I'd much rather be touring than have my job anyday.

Couldn't make it down to any of your Irish gigs this time. Glad you had fun, despite the guitar trouble. see you next time

The Radisson gig was the best I`ve seen but am a relative Hawley virgin.
he has been cited as one of the highlights of Oxygen, according to the irish Times,Irish Independent and Phantom Radio(105.2) for all you lucky people living in OIRELAND!!!!!!!!!!!Bob Dylan guests every Sunday night at 10.00 and they played Hawley for me tonight as soon as I requested it!!!Great station, check it out if you can.
Until the next gig! :D :P

From The Irish Times:

"Like stealing from the church poor box or admitting to owning a Ronan Keating record, seeing Richard Hawley at a rock festival just doesn't seem right. Of course, the timeless Sheffield singer took it all in his stride and brought a touch of class to Saturday's proceedings on the Pet Sounds stage. His melancholy pop songs were the perfect foil for the disposable indie offerings on other stages. As the last sublime chords of The Ocean faded and the appreciative audience trooped outside, with a quick glance at the sunset sky, we were sure we almost caught a glimpse of heaven."

and The Irish Independent:

http://www.independent.ie/entertainment/music/bittersweet-nostalgia-and-romantic-yearning-from-buddy-hawley-1291754.html

"Hawley deserves to be feted as one of the finest songwriters working today." :D

I like the first review ............... not so sure about the second!

But I agree about the songwriting bit............ he should get a Novello award!
