unbelievable, but I agree with cats!!!! :*:

And Richard, you should see the state of American telly...at least your news programmes are somewhat impartial...still we get bbc world news with Matt Frey and once in a while Showtime comes up with a good series, Californication being the latest offering.

besides the kids and their cartoon/kids channels, we watch at the most 8 channels, out of the 200+ we have....I got fed up of paying $102 a month for 8 channels and rang up the cable company to say I only wanted to pay for the channels I watch...of course they replied, "Unfortunately we don't provide a la carte channel selection" Of course they don't because if they did then only about 20 channels would actually be required.

Mythbusters is good though :*:

yes there is, there are gems of programs.. like... erm...

POLICE CAMERA ACTION!... and SKY COP!... and... STOP POLICE!... and HELLY TELLY... and 'The best police chases ...ever... and video cam cop action.... and COP 'Caught in the act'... and... well you get the slightly out of focus dashboard mounted picture eh..

ok... the first time i saw one of these things it was reasonably interesting... second time you've seen the car forced to a halt, the occupants taking flight into some woods, the eye in the sky guiding the police dog handlers to where the chavs are hiding in someones back garden behind some bins having swapped clothes... it was still mildly interesting... the four hundred and ninety eigth time you've seen the cunt in the stolen car being chased on the motorway... yes, we start to get the picture... enough already.

So i've just sent a letter to channel 4 suggesting that the boss would be an ace candidate for the next 'celebrity big brother', my full suggestion;
Richard Hawley
Anne Widdecombe
Radio one cunt Scott Mills
Jade Goodie
Ron Jeremy
Terry Waite
Mike Tyson
Timmy Mallet
Mark Thatcher (or margaret take your pick)
Linda Lusardi
The Cheeky girls
Germaine Greer
The head of Sheffield town planning

would be interesting.

Hey, steady on Mr H. Jeff Stelling on Sky Sports on a Saturday afternoon from 3pm to 4.50pm is top telly. The best.

It's almost as good as watching the footy scores on teletext. Red card for Hawley!!

I have a load of old British black & white films on video, which I taped during the '80s. I must get one of those recorders, which transfer video to DVD. Lots of old B movies and Edgar Wallace 'Man Of Mystery' short films. Really unsophisticated, but very nostalgic.

Hey Loftyeric - if you ever do, let me know - I'd love to buy a copy of the Edgar Wallace stuff from you! :D

You'd be most welcome Baroness. Buy? I wouldn't hear of it

I have to agree with the points made on this subject. If it's not car chases, it's How To Do Up The House; Fix The Sick Dog/Horse/ Wildebeest; Look At The Fat Lady/Man/ Baby; And, worst of all the bloody Let's Be a Choir/Musical Star/Talentless Pillock competitions....And don't even get me started on Radio One. Is it called that because of the mental age it's supposed to appeal to? :x On the up side, I like The Sweeney :D

I watched The Professionals on one of the cable channels yesterday and I still fall in love with the Felicity Kendall every time I watch The Good Life.

Today's telly is poor in relative terms. So many channels yet so little originality or quality. I can't comment on Radio 1, lofty. I haven't listened to it since the Hairy Cornflake quit.
