Remember 'Whatever happened to the Likely Lads' ? A great favourite of mine. Loved the theme song too. '...tomorrow's almost over, today went by so fast, it's the only thing to look forward to, the past...'

A likely story!
Can't think why you'd be drawn to that particular section of the film.... :?:

the british sense of humour is quite unusual in that we like to laugh at ourselves and our peculiarities, the carry on films and steptoe and all the rest of the classics of british comedy usually have a common thread of highlighting little things that shame or embarrass us and then transforming it into a joke which then makes us feel like we arent any different to everyone else. this is a country where we all live in close proximity to other people and we tend to protect our individualism but in actual fact we love to feel like we have a common thread of crapness....it makes us feel better doesnt it?
plus syd james, kenneth williams, charles hawtrey, hattie jacques, kenneth connor and the rest were all comedy geniuses....

Carry on Dick is on Film Four at the moment.................. just the thing to cheer me up on this miserable evening.................

Will do until the Hotel Inspector comes on - its a 50's retro hotel they're trying to sort out - I'm fascinated by the concept! :D
