Was editing a 'Retro' page from our paper today and Thatcher was on the front during a visit to Lancashire in the 1970s. Had to come up with a headline and all I kept writing across it was 'Milk Snatcher' (shows my age - a milk-deprived 70s child, too young to remember but my lovely Socialist mum keeps reminding me).

Couldn't think of a headline, so rewrote Page 3 of the supplement to include a piece about Bing Crosby playing one of his last gigs in Preston a few weeks before he died... and gave him pride of place on the front instead of Maggie. God, I have so little power, but I what power I have I can use for the greater good!

I was a milk monitor at school, so when she stopped the free milk i was out of a job and on the scrapheap at 8 years old.
I tried to bring the kids out to picket but all they wanted to do was play japs and commandoes or catchy kissy, all i can say is where are they now eh.

... were you not offered a job stacking the empty shelves in the library with prospectuses proclaiming the benefits of private education instead?

I mind being a "server" at dinner time and some wee lassie bowked her guts up on her plate........being a server also meant clearing up vomit. Salt mines for 8 year old or what?

Sure Milk snatcher was 1973, ace year in other respects

Just seen this......of course I am!!!!

On a sad note, Bobby Robson seems to have finally been told he has very limited time left - I met him once on Kings Cross station, he was absolutely lovely - mad as a balloon. He'd heard me talking to the person I was with, pounced onn the accent and came over to say hello - then spent about 10 minutes ranting about Graham Souness!

It is very sad he's bravely battled cancer on and off for years.

He is a true gentleman and the greedy bastards ie. chairmen, directors, t.v., players, sponsors etc who have turned a once working class game into a fucking business/hobby, should be humbled by his contribution to the game.

I think Mrs. T should be given a full state funeral as befits her standing.

Don't forget she was the one for the market economy and captialism which we all so faithfully subscribed to (well don't we?).

Just a thought.
