From where I was standing 'The Ocean' was wave crashingly glorious and more than made up for the (too short) 45 minutes set time.

Didn't go to V myself, but I read that Richard also played with Elbow "reprising his vocals and guitar role on The Fix", which is something extra that you are unlikely to see elsewhere. A great track on a fantastic album. Anyone there for the Elbow gig?

Elbow didn't play at V, so it must have been referring to a different festival.

Blimey yes, it was Glasto in June. I must stop doing research by surfing the internet when I'm tired. I knew it wasn't worth going to V.

There's the Ted Hugues Festival coming up, in our very own village from the 22nd to the 28th October.

It was said to me recently that TH left Mytholmroyd at age 7 and never returned but his poetry was influenced by the place for the whole of his life.
